For up to 30 minutes that's how long i've waited, kinda got tired of waiting after thatso I just use the reset button or turn it off completely.
For another 20-30 minutes, before I give up and restart it again.
Appreciate any help I can get!
The shutdown and startup delays are normally caused by defective hardware or drivers.
The trick is in isolating what hardware or driver is causing the problem.
Since you already suspect the hard drive, it would be best to run the hard drive manufacturer's diagnostic program on it.
See below for the common ones: Hard Drive Diagnostic Procedure Q: Hi.
I have had this problem for many months now and have tried to remove the infection manually using instructions found on ehow, using Norton Antivirus, malwarebytes and spybot search and destroy.
Nothing has been successful at removing it.
I have just been using my laptop instead of my desktop because I don't want to use an infected computer.
I receive notifications from Norton that an intrusion attempt has been blocked.
As Sound drivers for windows xp professional 5.1 build 2600 mentioned this has been going on for months now.
I'm hoping you can help me, otherwise I'm going to have to reinstall Windows, which I'd like to avoid doing.
I hope I have included enough background.
My scans are below and attached.

He's tried getting them on Windows Update but they weren't listed.

Everything is running good, except now the speakers wont work.

Q: Hi Guys, I am having problems with my laptop audio and was wondering if anyone could help me or advise further at all.
I bought it as an ex demo from a website which I can't remember.
I had to reformat it not long ago as I was having booting problems.
Since the reformat I have been unable to play and sound.
I have downloaded a few different types of drivers and other audio programmes I think I used to have but none have helped.
I have no idea which sound card I have in my laptop and no idea which drivers I need to get it working.
Thanks in advance, Paul Q: Hello, My computer is plagued with errors, many of which are incredibly frustrating and make using the computer almost useless.
There is one new problem which just started.
I checked the control panel, and made sure 'Show icon' was on, and it was.
I found that re-installing my audio driver will make the icon show up- that is, until I turn off the computer.
Once the computer has been turned off, the icon disappears again the next time I turn it on.
How can I fix this?

Please install a correct combination of software and driver.
I found in the net that other users got a similar error on Thinkpad E530 and a conexant driver.
There it helped to de-install the driver, no reboot and run the thinkvantage upgrade tool, which repaired the problem automaticly.
I tried it in the same way, but after I de-installed the driver, the upgrade-tool didn't found any upgrade.
And I have no conexant driver.
What can I do to fix this error?
Thanks for HelpMartin A:problems with dolby advanced audio driver after up.

Please refer followig link for driver.
No issues, every driver perfect.
Long story short I had some issues and had to do a fresh install of windows 7.
Then the audio issue above started happening again.
So I assumed it was a bad windows install - so I re-installed windows 2 more times and I have had the issue ever since.
If I set my speakers to quadraphonic the noise stops.
But the noise still comes through my headphones and it is annoying beyond belief!!!!
I have tried every driver realtek and asus and yet nothing but problems.

Q: Hi, i have some problems with driver of my audio card Xonar dx.
Seeing that i was not in the taskbar Asus Audio center, i uninstalled the audio driver to reinstall.
But when I started the installation I output a warning dialog that says the certificate is not trusted and the drivers are from an unknown author, first time never happened in previuos timeso i clicked 'run' to start the installation but once the sound card is disabled in fact, I did not hear the usual 'click' by card during installation.
I also tried to clean up with Driver Sweeper in safe mode but nothing, i tried to install the driver with cd-rom and the warning does not come out but the card is still disabled.
In this case i add the report of scans maybe you can see if something important key or file has been removed.

I'm a computer gamer, especially the online stuff of course.
I admit I play a bit too much but that never affected the computer before unless I went way too overboard and it overheated.
Well now, the computer completely locks up whenever I play any kind of game after a few minutes.
As well as repeating whatever sound was playing rapidly causing a sort of buzzing sound.
Sometimes it doesn't or it just restarts my computer.
Iv'e done virus scans and spyware scans and found quite alot.
I even used this site's startup program list to kill off spyware.

Q: Hey Guys, I have a brand new motherboard with all the wonderful trimmings of a high-end gaming platform.
I recently bought a full install of Vista Ultimate 64 and noticed some 'issues' after the install.
I have tried multiple versions of the Realtek drivers starting with the latest that was posted on this forum going back to 1.
The most stable driver I've had yet was the oldest I could find - 1.
I recently reformatted my computer, before it had sound, after, it doesn't.
Here are the things I've done: 1.
I've attempted to install, but on 'alcchkid.

A:Installing Sound Driver Problems Multimedia Audio Controller Just solved same problem!!!
I downloaded one of the many Vista packages from the Realtek site, and restarted my computer.
But I didn't see the Realtek driver icon at the bottom of my toolbar.
I looked for the Realtek icon, but still don't see it.
I searched through google, and apparently I need DirectX 8.
I downloaded 9 because it was listed as the version specifically for Vista.
I reinstalled Realtek again, and again restarted my computer.
I still don't see the icon.
What did I do wrong?
Please help me, I can't find anyone else with this problem but me.

I have found one that has just been created.
There looks to be a good promise to the content.
Take a look and let me know what you think.
Maybe I'll see you as a part of it soon, unless I find something else.
It may be just a case of choosing one that appeals to you.
It is a Win7 Starter netbook.

My computer has been giving me some gyp lately.
Avast keeps finding what it thinks is a rootkit, but I have been advised here that it is probably wrong about this.
The system is running a little sluggishly though.
SuperAntiSpyware finds nothing unusual, but MalwareBytes doesn't seem to be working.
It doesn't appear to be scanned when I select 'removable media' on Avast.
I believe you need to re-post that zip file as nothing shows up when i open it in explorer.
There is no file s showing up.
Q: Last night I had to restore my computer to its original factory setting, and I couldn't back up any files as it was too risky.
It's about two years old.
I have never had problems until yesterday.
I do not recall the error message.
I do not recall the stop number.
In the past three days I have been experiencing audio glitches with fubar2000.

A:Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus driver Hello.
The current name for it should be Display Audio.
I have the drivers and utilities cd that originally came with the computer.
On the disk are instructions on the order of driver installations.
I installed everything as it said but when I go into device manager I see the yellow question mark next to audio device on high definition audio bus.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the audio drivers, I've found the driver on Realtek's website and downloaded it but still no sound.
When I did this the audio device was no longer showing in device manager but the sound wasn't working.
The Windows software wizard also couldn't find anything for it either.
The driver on the dell website is the same one I have with the disk.
Device Manager only reflects the one problem you mentioned?
